
SFD FIRE EXPLORERS PROGRAM
Our Missison

To provide an opportunity for youth ages 14-17 to gain public safety knowledge through education, training, and exposure in helping emergency response organizations better serve their communities. Fire explorer youth help all communities by promoting public safety through youth interested in
emergency response and public service.
What Explorers Learn
All Seward Fire Explorer participants benefit from the training provided to them at the Seward Fire Department. SFD Fire Explorers meet weekly and are trained in leadership and character development, social and professional networking, community service,
community risk reduction, fire prevention, and life safety education. Along with becoming CPR and First Aid -Certified, ETT Certification, orientation and introduction to the fire service, department communications, and physical fitness.
