"Tis the season for the Seward Angel Tree Program, where Seward can help
everyone have a Happy Holiday Season! Started by a member of the Seward
Volunteer Fire Department, the program was designed to help families and seniors
that were on a tight budget to still have a merry holiday. Anyone can nominate
someone they feel might need a little extra help this season. The volunteers will
then put out angels in the community that represent those that need help. Simply
pick up an angel and return to the designated area with a new unwrapped gift
for the appropriate age listed on the angel. The volunteers will then deliver the
gifts on a designated day to the families. Since everyone's situation may be
different as to why this season may be particularly hard for them, the Seward
Angel Tree Program does not ask finance or salary questions. It is important to
note that the program will contact the parents of each family nominated to
confirm if they would like to participate, although we will not reveal who
nominated them.
